Ithnan

Ithnan is named once, in the southern boundary list of Judah's allotment.

A Town in Judah's South

It belongs to the catalogue introduced by, "And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the sons of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur" (Jos 15:21), and is named within the run of border towns: "and Kedesh, and Hazor of Ithnan" (Jos 15:23). UPDV's wording binds the name to Hazor as "Hazor of Ithnan" within the territory that reaches "toward the border of Edom in the South."
