Ithream

Ithream is the sixth of David's sons born during the Hebron years, named only in the two parallel birth-lists. Both notices identify his mother as Eglah and place him sixth in the order of David's Hebron-born children; nothing further about him is preserved.

Sixth Son Born at Hebron

The list in 2 Samuel closes the Hebron births by naming him: "and the sixth, Ithream, of Eglah, David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron" (2 Sam 3:5). The Chronicler's parallel keeps the same order and the same mother: "the fifth, Shephatiah of Abital; the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife" (1 Chr 3:3). The two lists agree on his rank, his mother, and the city of his birth, and the record stops there.
