Izalla
Izalla is a place mentioned in the lament over Tyre in Ezekiel 27, identified as a source of earthenware wine jars traded in Tyre's markets. UPDV renders Ezekiel 27:19: "and the earthenware wine jars of Izalla, for your wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among your merchandise."
The name reflects a text-critical reading followed by UPDV where the Hebrew is divided differently from the traditional rendering that produces "Dan and Javan." UPDV follows the CTAT-noted emendation; a footnote at Ezekiel 27:19 directs readers to that discussion.
