Jaaziel
Jaaziel is named once, among the second-rank Levites assembled when David brings the ark of Yahweh up to Jerusalem. He belongs to the long roster of singers and doorkeepers attached to the chief musicians for that procession.
A Levite of the Second Degree
The chronicler distinguishes the chief Levites Heman, Asaph, and Ethan from a wider group "of the second degree." Jaaziel falls in that second cluster: "and with them their brothers of the second degree, Zechariah, son, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers" (1Ch 15:18). The verse names him without further detail; it is the assignment to the ark procession that fixes his place.
