Jaroah
Jaroah is one link in a Gadite genealogy, named in a single verse of Chronicles as an ancestor of Abihail. The Chronicler traces the family back through eight generations to Buz, anchoring the Gadite settlers east of the Jordan to a long line of fathers.
A Descendant of Gad
The roll of Gad's chief men reaches Jaroah midway through a chain of fathers: "These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz" (1Ch 5:14). Jaroah is the great-grandfather of Abihail in this list; he is positioned between Huri above him and Gilead below him. The verse preserves no incident from his life — only his place in the descent that connects the Gadite households of Bashan to their tribal origin.
