Jehiah
Jehiah is one of two Levitical doorkeepers appointed to attend the ark of God when David brings it up to Jerusalem from the house of Obed-edom. The single verse names him alongside Obed-edom himself in the office of doorkeeper, set apart from the seven trumpet-blowing priests who lead the procession.
Doorkeeper at the ark's procession
The list of musicians and gatekeepers for the ark's transfer culminates in a paired notice of priests and Levites: "And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark" (1Ch 15:24). Seven priests sound the trumpets in front; two Levites guard the threshold of the ark itself. Jehiah is the second of those two — a sentinel at the holy chest's path from the threshing-floor of Obed-edom into the city. The single mention is the whole record of him, a man whose office for one day was to keep the ark's door.
