Jerah

Jerah is one of the sons of Joktan in the Table of Nations — a name on the southern Arabian branch of Shem's line, with no narrative beyond the genealogy itself.

Son of Joktan

The Genesis register places him fourth among Joktan's sons: "And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah," (Ge 10:26). The Chronicler repeats the line in identical order: "And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah," (1Ch 1:20). The two notices fix him as a Joktanite name on the post-flood map, alongside Hazarmaveth and the other peoples of the southeast.
