Jesiah
The name Jesiah belongs to two men in Chronicles. UPDV renders the underlying Hebrew form as "Isshiah" in both notices; the Authorized-Version vocalisation "Jesiah" lies behind the same name.
A Korahite at Ziklag
The first Jesiah is one of the warriors who came to David during his exile at Ziklag. The roster of Korahites lists him with four others: "Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites," (1Ch 12:6).
A Kohathite Levite
The second is a Levite of the line of Kohath, son of Uzziel. The Davidic Levitical register names him among the Uzzielites: "The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second" (1Ch 23:20). He is given no further detail beyond his place in the priestly courses.
