Jesimiel

People · Updated 2026-05-07

Jesimiel is named once in scripture, set among the heads of Simeonite households gathered in 1 Chronicles. He appears in the same verse with several brothers in tribal leadership and is identified, with them, as a prince in his family.

Among the Princes of Simeon

The roll of Simeonite chiefs places Jesimiel near the end of the sequence: "and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah" (1Ch 4:36). The summary that follows the list assigns each named figure his standing: "these mentioned by name were princes in their families: and their fathers' houses increased greatly" (1Ch 4:38). Jesimiel's one notice belongs to that closing characterization — a recognized head among Simeon's expanding clans.
