Jezer

Jezer is a son of Naphtali, named in the genealogies of Israel and remembered as the head of the Jezerite family of Naphtali's tribe.

Son of Naphtali

In the descent of Jacob's house into Egypt, Jezer is listed among Naphtali's sons: "And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem" (Ge 46:24). The chronicler reports the same line — "The sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah" (1Ch 7:13).

The Jezerite Family

In the wilderness census, Jezer appears as the eponym of a Naphtalite family: "of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites" (Nu 26:49).
