Jorkeam
Jorkeam appears in two UPDV passages. In Joshua it is listed among the towns in the hill-country allotment of Judah: "and Jezreel, and Jorkeam, and Zanoah" (Josh 15:56). In Chronicles, Jorkeam appears in the genealogy of Judah as a place whose founding is attributed to Raham: "And Shema begot Raham, the father of Jorkeam" (1 Chr 2:44).
Both passages point to the same locale in the territory of Judah. The Chronicler's use of "father of Jorkeam" reflects the common idiom for the founder or chief inhabitant of a settlement.
