Jotbathah
Jotbathah is one of the encampments on Israel's wilderness itinerary. It is named twice in the Numbers 33 stage list — once as a destination, once as a point of departure — without elaboration beyond the bare itinerary form.
A Stop in the Wilderness Itinerary
The stages roll forward in pairs, each entry naming where Israel departed from and where they next pitched: "And they journeyed from Hor-haggidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah" (Num 33:33). The next verse picks up from the same place: "And they journeyed from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah" (Num 33:34). The encampment falls between Hor-haggidgad and Abronah in the itinerary's running sequence. A separate notice elsewhere describes the same place as "a land of brooks of water" — see Jotbah for the cross-reference and the variant spelling.
