Kallai

Kallai is named once, in the priestly register of the post-exilic generation kept by Nehemiah.

A Priest in the Days of Joiakim

Nehemiah 12 records the priestly houses of the return and tracks who held the headship of each in the next generation, "in the days of Joiakim." Within that succession list Kallai appears tersely: "of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;" (Neh 12:20). The form is fixed throughout the list — the founder of the house is named first, then the priest who succeeded to its headship in Joiakim's day. Kallai stands as the head of the priestly house of Sallai for that generation.
