Kenizzites

The Kenizzites are one of the peoples whose land is included in the territorial promise made to Abram in the covenant of Genesis 15.

In the Land Promise to Abram

The gentilic appears in the list of nations Yahweh names when sealing the covenant by the divided animals: "the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite," (Gen 15:19). They stand alongside the Kenites and Kadmonites at the head of the ten-nation catalogue that defines the geographical scope of the inheritance promised to Abram's seed.
