Keziz
Keziz appears in scripture only as the second element of the compound toponym Emek-keziz, a place named in the city list of the tribe of Benjamin.
In the Cities of Benjamin
The name occurs in the catalogue that opens the Benjamite allotment: "Now the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and Emek-keziz," (Jos 18:21). The UPDV form "Emek-keziz" treats the place as a single compound — emek meaning valley — so the location is named only once, set among Jericho and Beth-hoglah at the head of the Benjamite city list.
