Kirjath-huzoth

Kirjath-huzoth — spelled Kiriath-huzoth in the UPDV — is the Moabite town to which Balak brings Balaam after fetching him from Mesopotamia.

Where Balak Receives Balaam

The place is named only at the moment of meeting between the two men: "And Balaam went with Balak, and they came to Kiriath-huzoth" (Num 22:39). It is the staging-point from which Balak takes Balaam up to the high places of Baal in the next verse, the last station before the prophetic oracles of Numbers 23-24 begin.
