Lucius
Lucius appears once in the closing greetings of Paul's letter to the Romans, named among Paul's kinsmen who join the apostle in greeting the church.
Paul's Kinsman in the Roman Greetings
The greeting that carries his name pairs him with Timothy, Jason, and Sosipater: "Timothy my coworker greets you⁺; and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen" (Rom 16:21). Lucius is identified as one of Paul's "kinsmen" — the same designation Paul uses elsewhere in the chapter for fellow Jews — and stands in the company of Paul's coworker Timothy and two other named kinsmen who together send their greetings to the church at Rome.
