Maai
Maai is named once in scripture, in the procession that dedicates the rebuilt wall of Jerusalem under Nehemiah.
In the dedication procession
Nehemiah's dedication of the wall sets two great thanksgiving companies on the rampart, with princes of Judah and priests' sons carrying trumpets at their head (Ne 12:31-35). Maai's name falls in the train of brothers immediately following: "and his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them" (Ne 12:36). The verse places him among those carrying David's musical instruments, with Ezra the scribe leading the way.
