Maath
Maath appears once in scripture, as a name in the genealogy of Jesus traced through Luke.
Place in the genealogy
Luke's ascending line from Joseph back to Adam carries the entry "the [son] of Maath, the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Semein, the [son] of Josech, the [son] of Joda" (Lu 3:26). Maath stands between Mattathias above him and Naggai below him in the chain, with the bracketed [son] marking the relational word the genealogy supplies between every generation.
Nothing else is recorded of him beyond his place in the line.
