Machbannai
Machbannai is listed as the eleventh of the Gadite warriors who joined David at the stronghold in the wilderness. First Chronicles 12:13 records: "Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh." UPDV spells the name Machbannai throughout.
These Gadite warriors are described in 1 Chronicles 12:8 as "mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes on the mountains." Machbannai is the last named in the list of eleven Gadite chiefs who defected to David before he became king over Israel.
