Matrites

The Matrites are a family within the tribe of Benjamin from whom Saul son of Kish was chosen as Israel's first king. First Samuel 10:21 records the lot falling to this group: "the family of the Matrites was taken; and Saul the son of Kish was taken." UPDV uses the family name "Matrites" at this point.

The selection by lot moved progressively from the tribe of Benjamin, to the family of the Matrites, to Saul himself — though he could not immediately be found (1Sa 10:21). The Matrites are otherwise unattested in the UPDV text.
