Me-jarkon

Places · Updated 2026-05-07

Me-jarkon is one of the towns assigned to the tribe of Dan in the conquest allotment, named once in the territorial list and otherwise unmentioned.

A Town in Dan's Allotment

The boundary description of Dan's inheritance closes by reaching the coastal plain near Joppa. Among the last places named is Me-jarkon, paired with Rakkon:

"and Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border across from Joppa." (Jos 19:46).

The verse situates the town inland of Joppa, in the lowland strip the tribe received between the hill country and the sea. No further reference fixes its history or fate; it appears only as one entry in the allotment.
