Melatiah
Melatiah appears once in scripture, named among those who rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem under Nehemiah.
Repairing the Wall
The notice places him in a section of the wall worked alongside men from Gibeon and Mizpah: "And next to them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, [that appertained] to the throne of the governor beyond the River" (Neh 3:7). Melatiah is identified by his town as a Gibeonite, and his stretch of the wall is tied to the seat of provincial authority west of the Euphrates.
