Migdal-El

Migdal-el is a fortified town listed once in scripture, among the cities allotted to the tribe of Naphtali.

The allotment of Naphtali closes its town list with a sequence that includes Migdal-el: "And Iron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages" (Jos 19:38). The name itself ("tower of God") fits the pattern of fortified sites in the inheritance, but the text itself supplies only its place in the enumerated nineteen and no further detail.
