Misham
Misham is one of the sons of Elpaal in the Benjamite genealogy of 1 Chronicles 8, listed alongside brothers credited with the building of Ono and Lod.
A Son of Elpaal in the Benjamite Line
The Chronicler places Misham inside the descendants of Benjamin, naming him in a single verse:
"And the sons of Elpaal: Eber, and Misham, and Shemed, who built Ono and Lod, with its towns" (1Ch 8:12).
The fuller setting widens through the surrounding verses. Misham's father Elpaal stands in the line of Hushim through Abitub:
"And of Hushim he begot Abitub and Elpaal" (1Ch 8:11).
And the brothers of Misham include Beriah and Shema, "heads of fathers' [houses] of the inhabitants of Aijalon, who put to flight the inhabitants of Gath" (1Ch 8:13). The single notice for Misham himself sits inside this Benjamite line of builders and heads of fathers' houses, but no further deed is recorded under his own name.
