Mishma
Two men named Mishma appear in the genealogies: a son of Ishmael, and a Simeonite descendant several generations later.
Son of Ishmael
Mishma stands among the twelve sons of Ishmael in the Genesis register: "and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa," (Ge 25:14). The chronicler's parallel list keeps the same name in the same position: "Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema," (1Ch 1:30).
A Simeonite Line
Within the tribe of Simeon, a Mishma appears in the descent from Shallum: "Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son" (1Ch 4:25). His own line is then traced: "And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son" (1Ch 4:26).
