Mole
The mole appears in UPDV in a single image: in Isaiah, idols once worshiped in silver and gold are flung away into the dark holes where moles and bats live. The animal is not part of the unclean-creeping-things list in Leviticus 11 (UPDV names gecko, land-crocodile, lizard, sand-lizard, and chameleon there), so the umbrella reduces to the prophetic scene.
Idols Cast to the Moles
On the Day of Yahweh, when human pride is humbled and idols become useless, people throw their precious-metal images into the haunts of underground and night-dwelling creatures: "In that day man will cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for them to worship, to the moles and to the bats" (Isa 2:20). The mole's contribution is its habitat — the lightless burrow, an apt place for idols once they have been seen for what they are.
