Nahum (ancestor of Jesus)

Nahum is an ancestor of Jesus listed in Luke's genealogy, distinct from the prophet Nahum the Elkoshite. Luke 3:25 places him in the line: "the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Amos, the [son] of Nahum, the [son] of Esli, the [son] of Naggai." UPDV uses the spelling Nahum for both figures.

This Nahum appears between Amos and Esli in the longer Lukan genealogy that traces Jesus' lineage back through David to Adam. No other details about him are recorded in the UPDV text. For Nahum the Elkoshite and his prophetic book, see Nahum.
