Nemuel
Two men named Nemuel are recorded in the wilderness-era genealogies — a Reubenite, brother of Dathan and Abiram, and the head of a Simeonite clan called the Nemuelites.
A Reubenite, brother of Dathan and Abiram
The first Nemuel is one of three sons of Eliab in the Reubenite line, named alongside the two brothers later remembered for their revolt: "And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against Yahweh," (Nu 26:9). The notice attaches Dathan and Abiram to the Korah revolt; Nemuel is named with them but the rebellion language is restricted to his two brothers.
Simeonite clan-head
The second Nemuel heads one of the Simeonite families in the wilderness census: "The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;" (Nu 26:12). The Chronicler repeats the name at the head of the Simeonite roster: "The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;" (1Ch 4:24).
