Nepheg

Two men bear the name Nepheg in the Hebrew genealogies: a Levite of the line of Izhar and a son born to David in Jerusalem.

Nepheg the Son of Izhar

The first appears in the Levitical genealogy of Exodus, listed alongside his brother Korah: "And the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri" (Exod 6:21).

Nepheg the Son of David

The second is named in the lists of David's sons born after the move to Jerusalem. The Samuel list reads: "and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia" (2 Sam 5:15). The two parallel Chronicles lists name him in the same group: "and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia" (1 Chr 3:7); "and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia" (1 Chr 14:6).
