Nereus
Nereus appears once, among a cluster of believers at Rome whom Paul greets at the close of the letter to the Romans.
A Christian at Rome
Paul's closing greetings name Nereus alongside several others: "Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them." (Rom 16:15). Nothing further is said of him; he is identified simply as one of the saints at Rome and as the brother of an unnamed sister also greeted in the same line.
