Neri

Neri is named in the Lukan genealogy of Jesus, one link in the chain of ancestors traced backward from Joseph through David and Abraham to Adam.

Within the long ascending list, Neri stands as the father of Shealtiel: "the [son] of Joanan, the [son] of Rhesa, the [son] of Zerubbabel, the [son] of Shealtiel, the [son] of Neri," (Luke 3:27). The name carries no narrative beyond this position in the genealogy.
