Neziah

Neziah is named in the post-exilic rosters as the head of one of the Nethinim families that returned from Babylon. The figure is known only through his sons in the lists.

In the Lists of Returning Nethinim

The two parallel rosters carry the same notice. Ezra reads, "the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha" (Ezr 2:54). Nehemiah's parallel says exactly the same: "the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha" (Ne 7:56). The pairing with Hatipha and the placement among the Nethinim are constant across both lists.
