Nibshan appears once, listed among the wilderness towns of Judah.

In the closing tally of Judah's wilderness district, Nibshan stands beside two other settlements before the district's total: "and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages." (Josh 15:62). The name surfaces only here.
