Nimrah
Nimrah is a town east of the Jordan, named once in scripture among the cities of the territory that fell to the tribe of Gad.
A Transjordan town in Gadite territory
The name appears in the catalogue of cities the Reubenites and Gadites identified as desirable pastureland when they petitioned Moses to settle east of the Jordan: "Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Beon," (Nu 32:3). Nimrah is listed in the same breath as Heshbon, Nebo, and the other towns of the Mishor plateau, locating it within the cluster of settlements that the eastern tribes received as their inheritance.
