Nobah
Nobah is an Israelite from the eastern-Jordan campaign whose name is attached to a captured town through his own act of renaming.
Captor of Kenath
The single verse describing Nobah ties the man and the place together in one motion: "And Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name" (Nu 32:42). The capture of Kenath and the surrounding villages is credited to him, and the new name he gives the site reflects that act of conquest — the town carries his name from that point on.
