Othni

Othni is named once, in the Levitical gatekeeper genealogies of the temple service organized under David.

Son of Shemaiah

He appears in the list of Shemaiah's sons among the Korahite gatekeepers: "The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brothers were valiant men, Elihu, and Semachiah" (1 Chronicles 26:7). The notice places him within a family marked as "valiant men" in the temple's ordered service, and gives no further narrative detail.
