Parchment
Parchment appears once, in a personal request from Paul near the end of his life. Writing from confinement, he asks Timothy to bring his belongings, and the parchments are singled out alongside the books.
Paul's Request to Timothy
The reference is a brief instruction inside Paul's final letter: "The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, bring when you come, and the books, especially the parchments" (2 Tim 4:13). The cloak, the books, and the parchments are listed together as items left behind at Troas. The parchments are flagged with "especially," marking them as the most valued of the three. Beyond this single verse, the text gives no further description of what was written on them or why they mattered most.
