Peresh

Peresh appears once in the text, named within the genealogy of Manasseh.

Son of Machir

In the Manassite line of 1 Chronicles 7, Peresh is born to Machir and his wife Maacah and is paired with a brother: "And Maacah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she named him Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem" (1Ch 7:16). Peresh stands at the head of his own short line — Ulam and Rakem are his sons — within the larger Manassite register.
