Philologus
Philologus is a believer in Rome whom Paul names in the closing greetings of his letter to the Roman church. He is mentioned only once and only in a list.
A Saint at Rome
Philologus is greeted alongside four other believers and the household around them: "Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them" (Rom 16:15). The naming places him at the head of a small grouping that includes Julia, Nereus and his unnamed sister, and Olympas, with a wider circle of saints attached. Nothing else is said about him; the greeting is the testimony.
