Phlegon
Phlegon is a believer in Rome whom Paul names in the closing greetings of his letter to the Roman church. He is mentioned only once and only in a list.
A Saint at Rome
Phlegon is greeted in the middle of a group of five men together with the wider company around them: "Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are with them" (Rom 16:14). The naming places him among Asyncritus, Hermes, Patrobas, and Hermas, with a circle of brothers attached. Nothing else is said about him; the greeting is the testimony.
