Piltai
Piltai is named once in scripture, in the register of priestly fathers' houses serving in Jerusalem in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, in the generation after the return from Babylon.
The Priest of Moadiah
The list in Nehemiah 12 walks down the priestly courses and names the head of each father's house in turn: "of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;" (Neh 12:17). Piltai stands at the head of the house of Moadiah — one entry in the catalogue of priests who took up the Jerusalem service after the exile.
