Poratha

Poratha is one of the ten sons of Haman, named in the catalogue of those killed by the Jews in Susa on the day the king's edict took effect.

A Son of Haman

The roll of Haman's ten sons is given as a single list inside the Esther narrative of the reversal at Susa. Poratha falls in the middle of the run: "and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha," (Es 9:8). The line is one entry in a name-by-name account of the fall of Haman's house — the same house whose head had plotted Israel's destruction now extinguished in the reckoning that followed.
