Rakem appears once in scripture, named within a Manassite genealogy that traces the descendants of Machir.

The line is set out in 1 Chronicles 7:16: "And Maacah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she named him Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem." Rakem is one of two sons listed under Sheresh, placing him within the broader genealogy of Manasseh through Machir.
