Ramath-Lehi

Ramath-lehi is the place-name commemorating Samson's defeat of the Philistines with a jawbone.

The Place of the Jawbone

Judges 15:17 records the naming of the site at the close of the encounter: "And it came to pass, when he had finished speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand; and that place was called Ramath-lehi." The name is fixed to the spot where Samson, having spoken his victory, threw down the weapon.
