Regem-Melech
Regem-melech appears once in scripture, named in a delegation sent during the post-exilic rebuilding period to inquire of the priests and prophets at Jerusalem.
Messenger from Beth-el
In the fourth year of King Darius, "the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah in the fourth [day] of the ninth month, even in Kislev. Now [they of] Beth-el had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to entreat the favor of Yahweh, [and] to speak to the priests of the house of Yahweh of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?" (Zec 7:1-3). The errand concerns whether the customary fifth-month fast should still be observed; Regem-melech is one of the named envoys carrying that question.
