Rumah is a town named only in passing as the home of Pedaiah, whose daughter became the mother of Jehoiakim. Its precise location is not recorded in the text.

The Home of Jehoiakim's Mother

The notice comes in the regnal summary of Jehoiakim of Judah: "Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah" (2Ki 23:36). The town surfaces only in this maternal genealogy and is not described further.
