Salim
Salim is a place named once in connection with the baptizing ministry of John, identified by its proximity to Aenon and the abundance of water in the region.
Near Aenon
The reference is geographic and ministerial: "And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized" (Joh 3:23). Salim appears only as a landmark by which the location of Aenon — the actual site of John's activity — is fixed for the reader.
