Shama

Shama appears once, in the closing list of David's mighty men in Chronicles, named alongside his brother and identified by his father and town.

The name comes at the tail of the roll-call of warriors gathered around David. "Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite" (1Ch 11:44). Shama is paired with Jeiel as the two sons of Hotham, and both are tied to Aroer through the gentilic Aroerite. The verse gives no further deeds; he is recorded by lineage and place within the company of David's heroes.
