Shen
Shen is a place named once in scripture, marking the site where Samuel set up the memorial stone after Israel's victory over the Philistines.
A Stone Between Mizpah and Shen
After the rout at Mizpah, Samuel commemorates the deliverance with a stone whose location is fixed by two landmarks: "Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, So far Yahweh has helped us" (1Sa 7:12). The text gives no further description of Shen — its position is named only as a counterpoint to Mizpah, defining the line on which the Eben-ezer stone stood.
